OUR SERVICES

Stop compromising,
start thriving.

At The Robert Grey Center, we provide individualized, center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for young children with autism. Our approach combines evidence-based practices with meaningful, play-based learning experiences that build on each child's unique strengths, interests, and developmental needs.

Through a supportive, engaging, and thoughtfully structured environment, we help children develop functional communication, social connections, independence, and everyday life skills. We emphasize learning through play, natural interactions, and positive relationships, helping children build skills they can use across settings and in their daily lives.

We believe every child deserves to feel safe, respected, understood, and empowered to grow at their own pace.

Our Services

At The Robert Grey Center, we provide comprehensive, individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment for children diagnosed with autism. We welcome children for enrollment between 18 months and 6 years of age, with the opportunity to continue services beyond age 6 when our environment and programming remain appropriate for their individual needs. We recognize that children with autism may also have additional diagnoses or developmental differences, including ADHD, anxiety, or intellectual disabilities. We consider each child's individual needs when determining whether our environment, clinical expertise, and comprehensive ABA programming can provide appropriate and meaningful support.

Our in-person, center-based program brings together evidence-based ABA practices, meaningful play, peer interactions, and everyday learning experiences in a nurturing, environment. We focus on helping each child develop communication, social connections, independence, and practical skills that make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

Comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Treatment

At The Robert Grey Center, our comprehensive ABA program supports children across multiple areas of development, including communication, social interaction, play, adaptive and daily living skills, emotional and behavioral regulation, safety, and independence.

Each child receives an individualized treatment plan developed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Our Behavior Technicians provide direct, one-to-one treatment under ongoing clinical supervision.

Our approach combines structured teaching with naturalistic, play-based learning. Throughout the day, children have opportunities to practice emerging skills through peer interactions, group activities, meaningful play, and everyday routines.

We prioritize positive relationships, child assent, individual strengths, and family priorities, creating opportunities for learning that are engaging, meaningful, and responsive to each child.

Our Community

At The Robert Grey Center, we believe that meaningful connections extend beyond the children we serve. We are building a community where families feel welcomed, valued, and connected to one another.

Through family gatherings, parent conversations, shared experiences, and opportunities to come together, we are creating space for relationships and friendships to grow. Our families help shape this community by sharing ideas, supporting one another, and creating opportunities to connect.

Our hope is that The Robert Grey Center is more than a place children attend each day. We want it to be a place where families find connection, build lasting relationships, and experience a genuine sense of belonging.

Because community is something we build together.

Family Support

At The Robert Grey Center, we believe that families are essential partners in their child's growth and development. We value open communication, collaboration, and the opportunity to work together to support each child's individual needs.

Families meet monthly with their child's Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to review progress, discuss individualized goals and programming, celebrate successes, and explore strategies to support their child both at the Center and at home. Caregiver training and meetings may take place in person or virtually, based on each family's needs and preferences.

These ongoing conversations provide opportunities to share experiences, address challenges, and develop practical approaches that fit naturally into everyday family routines. By working together, we help children build meaningful skills and use them with greater confidence and independence across the different environments and relationships in their lives.

Individualized Programming

At The Robert Grey Center, we recognize that every child brings unique strengths, interests, abilities, and opportunities for growth. Our individualized ABA programming is thoughtfully developed to reflect each child's needs and support meaningful progress in communication, social connections, independence, and everyday life skills.

Learning happens throughout the day, not just during structured teaching activities. Through play, peer interactions, group experiences, and everyday routines, children have opportunities to practice and build upon emerging skills in ways that are engaging, natural, and meaningful to them.

We place particular importance on helping children use the skills they are developing across different environments, experiences, and relationships. By creating opportunities for exploration, connection, and participation, we support children in building confidence and greater independence in their everyday lives.

And along the way, we believe learning should be filled with joy, curiosity, and plenty of opportunities for fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay for ABA therapy for my child? Will my insurance cover/pay for ABA therapy?

In Rhode Island there is a law known as the ABA mandate law. This means most insurance plans are required to cover ABA services for children with an autism diagnosis.

Our billing services team will work with you to check your current policy as well as alternate funding sources if required. They are set up to handle all insurance needs from authorizations to ongoing claims and billing. We accept insurance coverage from most providers.

How is center-based ABA different from a traditional school setting?

At The Robert Grey Center, our center-based ABA services provide individualized, one-on-one support focused on each child's unique strengths, needs, and developmental goals. Unlike a traditional classroom, where instruction is guided by an educational curriculum, our programming is guided by individualized clinical treatment plans developed and overseen by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Our approach offers several important features:

  • Individualized, One-on-One Support: Children receive dedicated support from trained Behavior Technicians, with programming tailored to their individual goals, learning styles, and interests.
  • Specialized Clinical Oversight: BCBAs develop, monitor, and regularly adjust treatment plans based on each child's progress and evolving needs.
  • Meaningful Skill Development: Programming focuses on functional communication, social connections, independence, emotional regulation, and everyday life skills through structured teaching, play, and natural interactions.
  • Opportunities for Peer Interaction: Our center-based environment creates opportunities for children to engage with peers, participate in group activities, and practice skills in meaningful social situations.
  • Family Collaboration: Families meet monthly with their child's BCBA to review progress, discuss goals, share concerns, and explore strategies that support their child across home and community environments.

When is the best time to begin ABA therapy?

Early childhood is an important time for learning, growth, and development. Research suggests that early access to individualized developmental and behavioral supports can help young children with autism build meaningful skills in communication, social interaction, independence, and everyday life.

At The Robert Grey Center, we believe the best time to begin ABA services is when a child and family may benefit from individualized support. Every child develops at their own pace, and the decision to begin services should reflect their unique strengths, needs, and family priorities.

Our approach focuses on creating positive, engaging learning experiences that build on each child's abilities while supporting meaningful growth and development.

Does ABA therapy replace school?

ABA therapy and school serve different, but often complementary, purposes. At The Robert Grey Center, we provide individualized, center-based ABA services designed to support young children with autism in developing meaningful communication, social, independence, and everyday life skills.

While our full-day and half-day programs offer a structured environment with opportunities for play, peer interaction, and group activities, our services are clinical in nature and are not intended to replace a child's educational program.

For some children, ABA services can help develop skills that support participation in a school setting. These may include communicating needs, navigating transitions, participating in group activities, developing self-care routines, and building relationships with peers and adults.

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work closely with families and, when appropriate and authorized, collaborate with schools and other providers to support consistency across environments and help children transition successfully as their needs evolve.

Our goal is to help each child develop meaningful skills that support their participation, independence, and quality of life—at the Center, at home, at school, and in their community.

Families are encouraged to remain connected with their local school district to understand their child's educational rights and available services.

What They're Saying

"Before this work, we were in a very different and difficult place with our daughter. Behaviors were at an all time high and were ever changing. Since then, we have had such a huge change and learned so much. We now have tools to help even in the hardest of situations. Not only am I more confident in helping my daughter but she is learning self coping skills as well. Our other children have been included, too, and this work has helped our whole family to be happier in our home together. It is more than I could ever have asked for."

"Bethany is a blessing to our whole family! She is deeply skilled, compassionate, caring, and will do everything possible to help your child become the absolute best version of themselves they can be. My daughter has ASD, ADHD, severe anxiety, and other diagnoses that can make life pretty difficult to navigate. Bethany meets her where she is and has taught her coping skills and independence. She is quick on her feet, thinks outside of the box, and has a way of really building up a child’s confidence. My daughter continues to grow and make huge strides."
